Update March 15, 2020:
The 2020 AIDA Annual General Meeting will be held on Saturday 4th April from 2.30 – 3.30 pm at the Aireys Inlet Community Hall. Hear about the year’s activities, nominate for the committee, pay your 2020 subscription or join AIDA.
The AGM will be followed at 3.45 pm by a “What If?” discussion about traffic management and evacuation plans should we be impacted by bushfires. Everyone in the community is invited to this discussion to learn about various bush fire planning scenarios, how relevant agencies think these events might unfold and what improvements could be made to processes and community messaging and understanding. Given the severity of this year’s bushfire season this will be a very timely and important conversation with representatives of Surf Coast Shire’s Community Emergency Management, Parks Victoria, DEWLP, CFA, and VicPol about current traffic management plans and evacuation scenarios for our area.
Also discussed will be the expansion of the Strategic Fuel Break Project, the bushfire planning community conversation program run by DELWP and CFA, and how this all fits into helping move us toward bushfire adaption.
Everyone in the community is invited to the ‘What If?’ discussion and we encourage you to attend.
All are welcome!
