AIDA AGM 2019

AIDA’s  2019 Annual General Meeting will be held on Saturday 27th April at the Aireys Inlet Community Hall. We ask any members interested in joining the committee to email us at aireysinletdistrict@gmail.com. The committee meets at 7.30 on the first Friday of each month and from time to time committee members are asked to help at events and an information table at the Top Shops.

Given there is every indication the federal government election will be held sometime in May, the committee decided it would be appropriate to invite all the candidates for the electorate of Corangamite to speak following the AGM.

The plan is to give each candidate a maximum of five minutes (in the interest of fairness anyone speaking over the allocated time will be stopped). The time allocated to each candidate may need to be reduced depending on the number of candidates and the number who accept our invitation.

All candidates will be asked to speak only about their interest in, and attitudes to, the Great Ocean Road. This could include issues such as climate change, tourist numbers, and infrastructure. We hope there will be opportunities for questions from the floor following the candidate talks.

The AGM normally lasts about an hour so we would anticipate the candidates’ talks would begin around 4.00 pm. All members of the community will be invited to attend. This may well be the only opportunity for the community to hear all the candidates and to hear them talking about their area of the coast.
