A celebration was held at the Aireys Inlet Community Hall on the afternoon of Sunday 7 June, following the announcement of the Painkalac Project. Over 140 people attended this event, filling the hall to nearly standing room only.
Following a welcome from Rod Brooks, Mick Loughnan gave a presentation outlining the Project’s journey so far and the exciting work to come in the near future. This was followed by a presentation by Lecki Ord on the Project’s history and the obstacles that the group have met and had to overcome.
Finally, Wendy Brooks extended thanks to all those responsible for getting the project to this point, which was warmly applauded by all in attendance.
It was a truly memorable celebration befitting of such a significant turn of events in the history of this township.
