The Surf Coast Shire has recently appointed a geotechnical contractor to monitor the site of the landslip along the Great Ocean Road, Fairhaven, near the intersection with Lialeeta Road. They recently advised that monitoring stations ‘show little movement at the landslip site’. They also advised that the monitoring data collected will be ‘used to guide the long-term fix’ of this problem.
Members and local residents will need to prepare themselves for temporary traffic control measures for some time along the Great Ocean Road.
